I hope this finds you enjoying your day to the fullest.
Living a healthy lifestyle is nothing more than having healthy habits; making healthy choices with the small daily things that actually create your health and wellbeing.
For many of us the idea of adding something to contribute to vibrant health is more appealing than taking something out of our diet.
So let’s not worry about what to remove at this time, let’s just add a juice ritual.
Adding a juice ritual, or daily habit, with reverence to your amazing self, will powerfully instruct your consciousness towards taking care of yourself in many ways. You’ll see.
Juicing can be done through a juicer or a blender.
To Juice or To Blend? What’s the difference?
Both obviously deliver your cells with nutrients and oxygen faster than eating the whole food, and liquifying helps you eat more vegetables, fruits, herbs, seeds and nuts than perhaps you would otherwise.
Blenders give you the whole food, which tends to be more filling because you are consuming the fiber. So blended juices are excellent meal replacements. I add sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, or hemp seeds to my blended juices, giving me even more vibrant plant protein. Let us not underestimate the power of fresh germinated seed protein! And green protein! Green leafy vegetables are 40-65% protein.
Juicers extract the fiber, so you don’t consume the fiber, which has it benefits. If you are healing a disease for instance, you can give your body large amounts of phytonutrients from juicing vegetables (phytonutrients kill cancer), without all the bulk. For example, you may juice 4 beets and get all that amazing nutrition in your system without having to consume the entire beet blended up….which isn’t that appealing….to me anyway….
So start your juice ritual today if you haven’t already.
My juice ritual looks like this:
*I do a blended juice for breakfast, which satisfies me for 3-4 hours.
I’m presently on my Mermaid Smoothie kick:
Blythe’s Mermaid Smoothie
1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup frozen berries
1 Tbsp spirulina powder
1 tsp chlorella powder
1 tsp pine pollen powder
1 tsp he shou wu powder
4-5 cups water
Blend and feel the magic.
*I do a vegetable juice in the juicer or blender mid afternoon to give me energy. I use lots of tomato, cucumber, greens, garlic, ginger, beets, whatever I have.
This alkalinizes and oxygenates my entire system, and gives me the afternoon nutrition/energy boost that actually builds my body, rather than coffee or another stimulant.
So throw in whatever you like, but try to stick with mostly vegetable. Add apples or lemon if you want to sweeten. Fruit sugars are best enjoyed with their innate fiber. So blending fruit is much better for your glycemic levels, which instruct your endocrine system. This is an important thing so remember blending fruit is better than juicing fruit.
Create your juice ritual in the way that feels best to you. Maybe you only have time to make a juice at night, that’s fine too. Make it easy and fun. Maybe order a farm delivery box each week to avoid more trips to the store. Make it work for you. Commit to it, and you will benefit greatly from it.
Enjoy your juice ritual.
