He found that the risk of 4 of the 5 most common killer diseases: stroke, heart failure, cancer and diabetes, is reduced to less then 10% in the Kuna. They can drink up to 40 cups of cocoa a week. Natural cocoa has high levels of epicatechin. The health benefits of epicatechin, the compound found in cocoa, are so striking that it may rival penicillin and anaesthesia in terms of importance to public health, reports Marina Murphy in Chemistry & Industry
‘If these observations predict the future, then we can say without blushing that they are among the most important observations in the history of medicine,’ Hollenberg says. ‘We all agree that penicillin and anaesthesia are enormously important. Top 7 Raw Thoughts On Using Less Plastic

*Top 7 Raw Thoughts On Using Less Plastic

7)      Keep Reusable Utensils at Work – No matter where you work, there will be times when you have to grab food on the go and eat it at your desk. Get a few simple pieces of silverware and keep them at the office. This will save you from grabbing the plastic silverware, which let’s face it, almost always ends up in the trash.

6)      Stainless Steel Ice Cube Trays – ice cube trays expand and contract when put in a out of the freezer. There are many potentially toxic chemicals within the molecules of this plastic, I just don’t want it anywhere near my ice.

5)      Glass Containers in the Kitchen – If you’re still using plastic containers to store food, it’s time to make the switch to glass. It may cost a little bit more initially but glass containers keep food fresher, look nicer and last longer, so will  save you money in the long run.

4)      Bag Your “Brown Bag” Lunch – a brown bag lunch creates about 100 pounds of waste a year. Find a bag, containers, and napkins that can be reused, so you’re not creating more garbage every day.

3)      Take Containers on the Go – If you have great reusable containers, bring them with you to use for leftovers at a restaurant, or to a grocery store or farmers market to carry your produce.

2)      Paper or Plastic? Neither! – Every time you go to a grocery store you see customers filling up their carts with plastic bags. It doesn’t have to be this way. Plastic bags are a thing of the past and they need to stay there. There is no place for them in today’s world. Buy some simple reusable bags, they’re available at most grocery stores or at www.blytheraw.com, the world deserves it.

1)      Get a Reusable Water Bottle – Each year billions of plastic bottles are thrown away and most of them end up in landfills. Getting a reusable container is simple, it’s good for you, and it’s good for the environment.

Cinnamon Honey Body Mask ~ for shower or bath, Warming & Balancing Body Butter

Cinnamon Honey Body Mask ~ for shower or bath
1 Tbsp raw honey
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix all ingredients in small mixing bowl. On clean skin, using circular motions, vigorously massage mask into arms, chest, stomach, legs and buttocks.

I use this either in the tub or the shower. If in the tub, I stand up to apply. I then allow myself to remain standing for 5 minutes. I use this time to meditate or visualize. After returning to the bath water, I soak for as long as I wish, the mask will dissolve in the bath water making the water a nice skin tonic. I then rinse myself and the tub with cool water.

If in the shower, I turn off the water, apply the mask as directed, and remain in the shower with the water off, mask working for 5 minutes. I use this time to ponder all that I’m grateful for.

I rinse with cold water. This mask powerfully tones and purifies the skin. Enjoy.

Pizza Crust, Simple Raw Nut Cheese Cheese, Pepperonis, Quick SuperFood Drink

These recipes are featured in Episode 22 “An Easy Fix”

Pizza crust
Yield: 4-6 6 inch pizzas or 3 full pizzas
prep time 15 minutes

Ingredients

2 Roma tomatoes

3 celery stalks
2 large carrots
1 jalapeno pepper
1 fennel bulb
1 red bell pepper
2 cups organic flax meal (ground raw flax seeds)
1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1Tbsp rosemary
1tsp black pepper
1 tsp sea salt

In food processor using the chop tool, combine all ingredients except the flax meal for 1 minute. Add flax meal and combine until a thick dough is created. If too wet, add up to ¼ cup more flax meal.

Spoon out unto teflex sheets on dehydrator tray. You have thinly spread 6, 6 inch pizzas or  3 10 inch pizzas. Dehydrate for 8 hours on 105. Switch sides, dehydrate for 2 more hours. You want them to be slighly soft still.

Use right awat by adding pizza toppings and dehydrate for 2 more hours.

OR store in covered glass container. Will keep for a week.

Simple Raw Nut Cheese cheese

Ingredients
1 cup raw organic cashews
1 cup raw organic macadamia nuts
